Artists in the UAE, take note: This is your opportunity to exhibit your art in Dubai. An open call for artwork to be displayed on the city's roundabouts was issued by the emirate on Tuesday.

Dubai Culture has asked all Emirati and UAE-based artists, designers, and architects to submit creative concepts and suggestions for unique art installations. Dubai Culture is collaborating with the Dubai Municipality and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The programme aims to demonstrate how local art practices coexist with Dubai's urban setting and natural scenery by placing these pieces at the emirate's key roundabouts.
How to sign up
Applications are being accepted by Dubai Culture beginning of Tuesday, June 11; the deadline for submissions is July 11.

The eligible projects will be chosen by a panel of artists and specialists who will assess the applications.

Each project winner will get a monetary award that will cover the expenses of the design, raw materials, production, and installation in the selected areas.

Conditions

It is mandatory for applicants to offer unique concepts that showcase the richness of the local culture and demonstrate their dedication to innovation.
Additionally, they have to use environmentally friendly materials into their artwork that can resist extreme heat, changes in the weather, and other factors without obstructing traffic in the designated roundabouts.
A thorough work plan that guarantees public and artwork safety and security requirements must be included in the proposal.
It has to be modern, unique, never been made or seen before, and the artist(s) or group(s) must have a lot of expertise creating installation artworks.
The Authority is holding an open call as part of a series of creative commissions to create installation artworks that would turn Dubai's streets, communities, and public spaces into tourist destinations with a strong cultural identity.
