UAE rains: Due to the unpredictable weather, Dubai Airports and Airlines issue advisories for travelers.

Rain and heavy traffic could cause delays, the airline warned

 

On Wednesday, Dubai Airports and two regional airlines sent out weather advisories to travelers, advising them to plan for delays at Dubai International Airport owing to rain and traffic.

Whether using a car or public transportation, they advised travelers to set out early and allow additional time for their journey in order to be at the airport on schedule.


“With unsettled weather forecasted for tomorrow, we advise guests who are flying out of Dubai International (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) to plan ahead. To avoid potential delays due to road congestion, we recommend guests utilise smart apps for real-time traffic updates and alternative routes and consider using the Dubai Metro to get to DXB Terminals 1 and 3,”Dubai Airports spokesperson said.

 

In order to account for possible delays or lines brought on by inclement weather, travelers are advised to verify the status of their flight with their airline and think about arriving at the airport earlier than normal.

 

On May 2, there is a chance of strong thunderstorms in Dubai. Road delays may occur if you're traveling to Dubai International Airport. A representative for Emirates airline stated, "We advise giving yourself more time to go to the airport and, if feasible, taking Dubai Metro.

 

A two-day notice for medium to severe rainfall was issued by the UAE on Wednesday night. It is suggested for employers to request that their staff members work from home. Authorities in Sharjah and Dubai have introduced distant learning for schools.
As the nation's unpredictable weather peaks, the disaster management authority has urged workers in the public and private sectors to allow them to work from home. The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) has advised that employees be allowed to work remotely, with the exception of those whose presence is required in order for them to do their duties or those who are helping with the recovery process.

According to a flydubai representative, travelers are urged to give themselves more time when driving or taking public transportation to Dubai International (DXB) because of the unfavorable weather conditions expected in Dubai on May 2.“Passengers are also advised to update their contact details via the Manage Booking tab and check the flight status on the airline’s website for the latest updates regarding their flight.”

 

According to an Etihad Airways representative, severe weather, including powerful winds and intense thunderstorms, is predicted for the entire nation from May 1–3. “If you're travelling to Zayed International Airport, please allow extra time in case of delays and plan your journey accordingly. Passengers using the Etihad bus service between Zayed International Airport and Dubai are encouraged to check in early for their transfer to allow additional time to reach the airport,” said the spokesperson.
