Arshad Nadeem brings gold with a historic throw!

Arshad Nadeem Ends Pakistan’s 32-Year Olympic Medal Drought.

Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s prominent javelin thrower, made history by securing the country's first Olympic gold in 32 years with an outstanding throw of 92.97 meters during the javelin final at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Nadeem’s victory marks the first individual Olympic gold for Pakistan.

Initially, the star athlete stumbled in his first attempt but made a stunning comeback in his second, achieving a new Olympic record with his 92.97-meter throw.

This record-breaking performance surpassed Norway’s Andreas Thorkildsen’s 90.57-meter throw, set during the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

In his third attempt, Nadeem delivered another impressive throw of 88.72 meters.

Meanwhile, India’s Neeraj Chopra, despite a shaky start, recovered to earn the silver medal with an 89.45-meter throw. His third attempt, however, did not count.

Grenada’s Anderson Peters secured the bronze medal with his best throw of 88.54 meters.

Nadeem secured his place in the final round of the Javelin event after an 86.59-meter throw in his first attempt during the qualification round on Tuesday.

As Pakistan’s last remaining hope for a medal at the Paris Olympics, Nadeem's triumph is even more significant, especially after six out of seven Pakistani athletes were disqualified from their respective events.

It’s important to note that the last time Pakistan won an Olympic medal was in 1992 when the national hockey team clinched the bronze at the Barcelona Olympics.
