Former President Donald Trump Reacts to Assassination Attempt at Pennsylvania Rally

During a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Sunday, former US President Donald Trump was rushed to safety after gunshots were heard in the crowd. President Joe Biden condemned the attack and offered condolences to the attendee who was killed.

A White House spokesperson reported that the suspect and at least one attendee were killed, and two others were injured. Trump was seen bleeding from his right ear as he was escorted from the stage. He later said he was "fine" and getting a check-up, recalling the moment he realized something was wrong when a bullet hit the upper part of his right ear.

The FBI is leading the investigation. An FBI spokesperson said, "The FBI has assumed the role of the lead federal law enforcement agency in the investigation of the incident involving former President Donald Trump that occurred earlier today in Butler, Pennsylvania."

Steven Cheung, a spokesperson for Trump, thanked law enforcement and emergency personnel for their quick response. The Secret Service, through spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi, confirmed the incident and said it is now an active investigation, with Trump being safe.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris both condemned the violence. Biden expressed relief that Trump was not seriously injured and called for national unity against such violence. Harris emphasized the need to condemn this act to prevent future incidents.

Former President Obama condemned the incident, stressing the importance of civility and respect in politics and wishing Trump a quick recovery.
