Dubai Police Extradite Wanted Criminal Faisal Taghi to Netherlands

The Dubai Police have successfully extradited Faisal Taghi, a high-value criminal, to the Netherlands. Taghi, a Dutch national, is the leader of the notorious criminal organization 'Angels of Death' and is wanted for multiple serious crimes, including drug trafficking, money laundering, and human trafficking.

Faisal's father, Ridouan Taghi, who previously led the 'Angels of Death,' was arrested in Dubai in 2019. Ridouan had been living in a luxury villa under a false identity since 2016. At the time of his arrest, there was no extradition treaty between the Netherlands and Dubai. However, in August 2021, the two countries signed agreements on extradition and mutual legal assistance.

Earlier this year, Ridouan was sentenced to life in prison for a series of gang-related murders, concluding one of the largest criminal trials in Dutch history. His syndicate is linked to over 300 crimes, including assassinations. Interpol had classified him as one of the world's most wanted criminals, and Dutch authorities had offered a reward of 100,000 euros for information leading to his capture.

Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof praised the UAE’s security cooperation and specifically acknowledged the critical role of the Dubai Police in Faisal Taghi's extradition.
